Our journey began in May 2023 when we set out to build an AVS. Six months into building, our focus shifted away from our core product, as we needed to develop the necessary low-level components for shared security, including a consensus engine for off-chain computation, P2P networking, attestation systems, rewards and slashing configurations, and various smart contracts that fit the new shared security environment. We realized the value of having an approach to these foundational elements when building from the ground up, so we compiled them into the Stack to help builders focus on their core product. h
